I'm sorry
But you all need send your children back to school!

School cleaner safer and they will actually get education

Unlike when parents take there kids shopping, to the park, in garden all day getting no education and being exposed to the virus more than they would if they was in school.

Send kids to school not the local shops or play park

Why are you apologising?
And why are you assuming that the people who don’t want them to go back to school are all going shopping and to the park? And how are they picking the virus up in the garden?!
Mine are yr 1 and reception and I will be sending them back, as I believe it’s in their best interests. But your OP makes no sense Grin

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 26/05/2020 11:56

Thank you for the public service announcement, I guess?

Ive no idea why you've decided to post this. Are you annoyed at kids in the park or at the shops? Do you have kids? Have you sent them back?

BirdieDance · 26/05/2020 12:14

I'm not sending my 5 year old back yet but I can assure you, she hadn't been shopping or to the park and has most definitely not been in the garden all day on school days. In fact, she's made more progress at home with me in these last few weeks than all year at school.

School is cleaner and safer than my house?

Thesearmsofmine · 26/05/2020 12:18

Weird post! People need to do wht they feel is best.

CuckooCuckooClock · 26/05/2020 12:24

Thanks for this OP have you got any more advice for us?

Lynda07 · 26/05/2020 12:31

Why start an opening post with an apology? You're entitled to your view, same as anyone else.

I'm old and no longer have dependent kids but I would - I think - have kept them at home apart from going out for a walk/cycle/exercise and keeping distance. I would not be sending them back to school on 1st June, it seems too soon. However this is all hypothesis from me.

Before I retired, I worked for the NHS for many years and it is possible I would have had to go out to work in which case child care would have been a problem at a time like this. We'll never know. It is very hard indeed for some folk right now, people have to do what they think best for their families.

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 26/05/2020 12:36

Also, I kind of get the impression you're after an arguement.

If thats the case, id post this on AIBU and enjoy yourself!

Drivingdownthe101 · 26/05/2020 12:39

I think even on AIBU most people are bored of the relentless schools opening arguments to be honest!

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 26/05/2020 12:43

Maybe thats why OP's posted on here!

nannynick · 26/05/2020 12:43

If school cannot do class sizes of 30+ then how will they have room to take all the children? Not practical for school buildings to double in size.

tinseltitsandlittlegits · 26/05/2020 12:54

I'm sorry but I think your a plonker thinking you can decide what's best for my children! You do what's best for yours and I will do what's best for mine 🤦🏼‍♀️

stuckindoors77 · 26/05/2020 13:26

I think at this point it's completely up to the parents. Nobody should be made to feel awkward or guilty either way.

One thing I would say is that I'd rather have the chance to supervise a few of ds' meet ups with friends first before he goes back to school so I can see for myself that he's following SD and hygiene rules.

CatNotGot · 26/05/2020 13:31

Think people need send their kids back to school instead of going to the beach or out in public if your happy go outside then should be happy for kids go back to school

So unless been staying in last 9 weeks then send your kids to school

You’re forgiven.

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 26/05/2020 13:34

I just dont understand why you've felt the need to tell people that though...?

I mean, everyone entitled to their own opinion, but im confused why you've chosen to post this?

m0therofdragons · 26/05/2020 13:37

Er okay, my dc haven’t been to the beach or park or shops so I’ll keep them home.

Would you like to share what qualifies you as an expert on this matter? Looking at the figures in the south west where a local hospital has closed due to high numbers of cases and almost 100 staff being off ill, I’m unconvinced is safe where I am but please to inform me otherwise with your expertise.

Junebug2020 · 26/05/2020 13:41

Going out for a walk is nothing like going into a school environment.

Drivingdownthe101 · 26/05/2020 13:41

You still don’t make any sense. We haven’t been at home for 9 weeks, we’ve been for daily walks in the countryside where we haven’t been within 2 meters of anyone.
How is that comparable to school?
Now I am sending mine back, but your argument still makes no sense.

BIWI · 29/05/2020 13:55

Whatever! I’m doing a visit later for my dc who is 10 and has asd. He has a 1:1 and is likely not to be in his class, possibly in the hall with someone who isn’t his teacher. I don’t want him to miss education but he’s very scared and I’ve read the independent sage advice as well, I’ve watched the briefing and I’m considering all my options. So please take your patronising crap elsewhere!
