Pram issues? Will I need one? Single/double? Help!

So my son will be 1 when my new baby arrives. I’ve been stressing over pram situations. Anyone have this similar age gap and have a solution? Will I need a double pram? Or should I stick to a single pram for baby and let my son walk alongside? I drive so it will be car journeys mostly, the odd walk possibly and maybe shopping trips/coffee dates etc.. my worry is being out and my son getting tired of walking and not having a place to rest (due to single pram) Is it wise to just get a double pram? Or would it be a waste considering how long my son will use it for? Thanks!

Are we talking just turned one or nearly two?

If he's just turned one, definitely go for a double. You'll need it for at least a year.

@NuffSaidSam he’s actually turning one June and baby is due in November.

I think you could, at a push, manage without.

But unless you're really pushed financially I would get a double. It will just be so much easier.

I would say you will definitely need a double pushchair. Have a look at the ones that have a second seat that can be added or removed, icandy do one. Look on eBay for a good condition second hand one of you are worried about getting your money's worth.

I've got a 2yr old and a 14 month old and we've got the iCandy. It was helpful when my DD was a newborn. Now they're both older I feel sorry as one is always in the back and doesn't have the best view! But I'd definitely say to get a double.

Hi, I don’t have 2 children close in age but my 17 month old can’t walk very far despite learning to walk at 9 months. I often take him for walks without the pram and it’s quite tiring. He bumbles along, crouching down to inspect every stone, turns around to walk the other way when he sees something interesting, and he suddenly sits on the floor with a smile when he’s too tired to carry on. He can walk for about 15 minutes and then he’s done. I imagine doing all that with a newborn would be absolutely exhausting. Not to mention he still naps in the day so the pram is handy for that every now and again. Maybe you could get a buggy that’s suitable from birth until he’s ready to walk everywhere (they tend to be cheaper)? Or a travel system that converts from a double to a single?

What age exactly will your son be? There’s a massive difference between a 12 month old and a 23 month old.

Thanks everyone! I think I knew I needed the double, it would just be easy all round! Now to find the best option lol!
