Hi

I am wanting to try porridge fingers for my 7 month old - not sure it will work with ready brek due to the fineness of it?

What brands of porridge work (with no added sugar and salt)

Tried and tested methods much appreciated thank you ;-)

I mostly use Jordan's rolled oats. I put in equal amounts of oats and milk, let the oats soak up some of the milk for a few minutes before cooking them.

Some people swear by the microwave, this makes mine soggy! I pop them in the oven for about 15-20 mins and they keep in the fridge for days.

Can put chopped fruit etc in as well, berries work as they go very soft.

Scots. Took a bit of trial an error depending on the size of the container I used and how much I put in (thickness on the bottom of the pyrex dish). But she loved them and loves normal porridge now.

I used the microwave and saved them in the fridge too. It made them solid enough to hold without falling apart but soft to eat.

Just standard supermarket own brand oats here, cheaper than other options. 20 minutes in the oven worked well for me.

Any oats that are just oats with nothing done to them (eg supermarket own brand, Scots) will work just fine!

Just normal big sack of oats. If they are particularly big, you can always blend them a bit finer first.
