18 months - eating enough?

My very active 18 month old seems to have become skinny since he came out of childcare for lockdown. I initially thought it was a growth spurt and he has definitely grown/ had a developmental leap but now I'm not so sure....

Hes started playing on our bathroom scales and I'm sure hes dropped about 300/400g in the last few weeks.

He generally sleeps through unless teething and is otherwise what I think is a typical wild toddler. Hes been walking since 11.5 months and now sprints everywhere. Into everything. Never still etc so I'm not too concerned I was just wondering..

Breakfast -
6.30/7am 1× weetabix with milk and about 1tsp of peanut butter - sometimes eats all recently it's been more like half

10 ish Snack : 1 oatcake or some cheese / maybe 1/4 apple/ another go at the weetabix from the morning.
Nap 11- 1/1.30
2pm Lunch: leftover risotto/cheese on toast/ soup (might eat some - rarely all)
Snack - cucumber or some plain yogurt

5/6pm Tea: broccoli carbonara/ scrambled egg / 2x fish fingers and sweet potato(the only one guaranteed to do well with)

If tea goes badly we will offer another weetabix with yogurt just before bed.

7pm. Bedtime 8oz bottle of milk

Hes not been doing amazingly with meals the last few weeks so the above is more a list of what's offered and he'll generally eat half.
Hes only just got his back molars but is becoming resistant to being spoon fed.

When he feeds himself he just seems to get bored
Or overfill his mouth, get bored of chewing and just spit everything out.

This is ok though isnt it? He was definitely a bit of a butter ball before lockdown but as we both work full time we only really had any idea of how much he was eating on an evening/weekend basis so not sure if we have been under feeding him for the last 10 weeks?

If he's got skinny after a growth spurt, that's absolutely fine but if he's actually lost weight, it's more of a concern.

I would weigh him again and plot his height and weight in his red book. He should be following his centiles.

As for the food, it does seem like a lot of weetabix, could he just be bored? It's also worth trying him with a dose if Calpol about half an hour before his main meal, just to see if he's been in discomfort and that's been reducing his appetite.

There are some good ideas on what to give him in this guide. It includes portion sizes too Smile
