Heavy Wetting Nappies

hi everyone

does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations for nappies for the night time? I try not to change my babies nappy too much at night time as it seems to wake him up and really annoy him, which then makes it harder to get him down again. I'd really like to put him in nappies that would allow him to go longer stretches without being changed. Do they even exist?!

would you consider trying cloth nappies for night time? the kit and kin ones are very absorbent, especially if you put a nappy booster inside too.

Reusables! Bamboo little lamb (or similar - tots bots bamboozles, or lollipop bamboo).

My two year old goes 12 hours easily in a bamboo little lamb (size 2) with Bamboo booster.

Ok, thank you.

Hes in size 2 pampers at the moment. Which size would be best for him? I did look into reusables but there was a lot of info and different types and I was a bit bamboozled by it all!

the ones I linked above are one size fits all, so as long as he is 4kg/8lbs+ they will fit x

I would still try to change a 7 week old once during the night. When he first wakes up before a feed. Definitely by 12 weeks mine were not being changed overnight and were fine. We used Asda and Tesco nappies. You may need to go up a size. But at that age they’re often still feeding regularly enough to need changing. It won’t last forever, but changing first and feeding back to sleep always worked.

we use terries overnight (7mo) and he lasts 8pm - 8am without a change.

@Letsallscreamatthesistene as he's 7 weeks, it may be a bit early to not change at night. I only stopped changing at night when DC1 stopped pooing at night.

The sizing on reusables is a little different to disposables. Birth to potty nappies are generally 8/9lbs+ although my boy is fairly skinny and they leaked for a bit until he was heavier than that.
Sized nappies are generally size 1 and 2. Size 1s go to around 20lbs. Size 2 is around 20-35lbs. Some do size 3 as 35lbs +, but many children are potty trained before then.

Thanks for all your replies. If he poo's we'd defo change his nappy - id never leave him in a pooey nappy.

Hes a big boy - 12.5lbs. Was born at 9lbs2.

@Letsallscreamatthesistene I use the next size up. My baby is in size 2 and we use size 3 for bed. Wether it's more absorbent I dont know but seems to work. Last night my husband changed him at midnight then I changed him at 745 when we woke up. Be too would be really hard to settle in the night. Like you say you would change if pooed. My baby has a nice healthy bum and no rashes so until thay happens I will carry on. X

We use Pampers premium for overnight. They are pricey but it's meant mainly 10-12 hours sleep from 9 weeks until now (21 months). Sainsburys often have them on offer, £5 for 30 of her size now.

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 14/05/2020 17:58

I use Pampers Premium anyway and they're the problem!
