Pre - school lunch box ideas for 3yo (September)

Hi

I am the mum of a very fussy 3yo boy. Food (real food anyway) is just not on his agenda.

I'm a little worried about his lunch box when he starts preschool in September.

He will eat sandwiches (if he's in the right mood Hmm
So I'm thinking of alternating between sandwiches and wraps, cornbeef, ham or cheese.

I'm worried about the 'healthy' snacks that need to go with it. The preschool don't allow crisps or chocolate.

He used to eat all fruit up until aged 18 months, now I have to bribe him to eat a bite of strawberry.
He likes yoghurt. Virtually zero vegetables and no salad.

Would you use this time to introduce new food and see if he'll give it a go, or is that risky being in a different environment?

I have tried, and tried and tried to get him to eat a balanced diet, I've tried everything I (and his paediatrician) can think of. Nothing works and now it's definitely a power struggle, one which he always wins.

He always has a smoothie at home but even that's not allowed. Water only.

Help!

could you try making some things in advance with hidden veggies in, and freeze them? things like mini quiches, or veggie pikelets. you could also put a few veggie straws into a snack box, out of the packet, or do the same thing with a carrot oaty bar. try giving him a few of these things at home, only one new thing a day. with the straws and oaty bar, give him them out of the packet in the place of crisps or a snack.

all the best x

Yoghurt covered raisins
Flapjacks
Fruit cut into shapes always seems to work on my daughter, melon works well
Pretzel sticks
