Close caboo till about 6/8 months then a Tula which we still use at 2.5-actually want a toddler one and to use for even longer it’s brilliant

I think it does depend on baby weight. My sister had a right bruiser! Huge gorgeous baby but he was so heavy to carry even at 9months! My DS is 15 months and I do still use my bjorn and I even used the material one last month to collect him from nursery but it's quite tiring so I only use for short journeys like popping to the shops etc

Stretchy wrap for first 6 months. Lillebaby standard til about age 2 ish. Lillebaby carry on (toddler size) regularly til age 3/3.5 ish and infrequently after that. Still have it in the car in case of emergencies!

Ergo 360 still using at 19 months. Max for an hour though, my toddler looks about 3, he's massive!

I occasionally still chucked one up for a piggy back with a woven age 4 to 5. I kept a short size 2 rolled in my bag. Useful as a towel too when they went plodging in ponds etc.

I still have it actually, can't make myself give it away and the youngest child is 8.

Ah great, thanks everyone. Dd is 12 months and has her vaccinations next week, she'll be happier carried home in the sling but wasn't sure if it would look silly at her age!

I still throw DS (20 months) into a ring sling or the Tula if he starts whinging on a walk.

12 months is nothing!! When I’ve been to NCT sales there’s always lots of women there carrying older toddlers (3 maybe older) - you can’t take prams so I guess you see more of them there.

I think you have to carry on and not have a break though, as your child gets bigger you get stronger. I hurt neck/shoulders wen my baby was 7 months and had a break from carrying for 2-3 months. I really struggle now, she’s only just over a year and quite small for her age. I generally have to put her on my back, can manage her on my front for more than 15 mins or so.

At age 4 DS would still jump into the ergo back carry for a break from time to time. He was a big 4 as well, feet were dangling down by dh's knees. The last time we took it with us was on our summer holiday before he started school.

Much easier to carry around than a big buggy, and not

nomelodies · 02/05/2020 19:57

Age 3 or 4 for a back carrier. Basically until they no longer want or need carrying. Or they're too heavy.

mindutopia · 02/05/2020 22:45

On the front, I carried mine til probably 2.5 and on the back til probably nearly 4.

CeeCeeEnnEss · 02/05/2020 22:46

I still carry DD (nearly 3.5) on my back!

Salene · 02/05/2020 22:50

Still take my 3.5 year old hiking in backpack

Aveisenim · 03/05/2020 00:22

Used a woven wrap until my DC was about 5 (at that point it was only if we went on REALLY long walks and they got tired as we no longer had a pushchair at that point!) could demo (ran a sling library at one point) until they were about 6/7 though.
