Oat milk and babies

Hi there
My little boy is 9 months old and was combination fed (now formula fed and eating three meals a day!)

I don’t drink dairy milk and wondered if anyone had any advice on oat milk for a drink after 12 months? I’ve read it doesn’t contain enough calcium and fat? Not keen on giving him soya (phytogens mimic oestrogen in humans?) but not sure what other choices there are. I’ve contacted Oatly to ask (the brand of oat milk I drink).

The NHS isn’t overly helpful as it says they can have this as a drink after the age of 2 but I really don’t want to give him cow’s milk if I can avoid it.

Many thanks!

@formerbabe because you said nutritionally
optimum, which would be breastmilk. So I was curious if that was your angle

formerbabe · 02/05/2020 14:13

@desidiva2020. Well nutritionally optimal in terms if what you have access to clearly and encompassing a woman's choice in terms of what she wants to with her body is important too.

I just don't understand why you would restrict dairy unless your child had an allergy...but that's just me.

Especially if they had been drinking infant formula derived from cows milk

Fuck sake this stupid soy oestrogen thing.

Two secs I'll get a video for you which will completely anhiliate that stupid stupid theory.

Horehound · 02/05/2020 14:33

Here you go. This video was made in response to Paul Joseph Watson claiming the same thing about oestrogen.
Watch this, it's been fact checked. It's also done in a very humerous way, I found it highly entertaining

@horehound. Wonderful. Very frustrating to see the soy phytoestrogen argument rise up again.

Yes, people read some idiot make a claim and then think "that sound legit it MUST be true">
So silly.
Honestly this guy is amazing. Very clever
