How much are you doing with your y1 child?

Just that really. How much focused work are you managing per day? My dd is in y1 and this morning we had a really good hour of English. We did some creative writing and some spelling activities. I said she could have a snack and a little break but then afterwards I couldn't get her to do another hour. Was hoping to do maths. She will do her reading tonight at bedtime but I'm worried about her falling behind. I've got chronic morning sickness atm so I am struggling a bit

About 2 hours worth a day of school set work- worksheets etc and then maybe another hour roughly.of some online stuff like Reading Eggs or numbots etc but she is happy enough doing it. The days she is really against the idea we have a little break.
We need some structure her and me, so I will stick to doing work with her every day as much as she will cope with. She has plenty of playtime and exercise too Smile

You're lucky if she's willing! Mine isn't as compliant 😕

We are doing about an hour of English and an hour of maths, most of which is set by the school, plus some reading. After all that its Lunch and I'm finding it really hard to do anything with them in the afternoon. I have just been letting them play board games or watch horrible histories. The school has set all these topic activities which I feel I ought to be doing as well, but have given priority to the English and maths activities then have no motivation left after.
