Weaning, Baby Refusing Nighttime Bottle

I'm a bit unsure on how to go about this weaning stage😂
My son is 6 and a half months old and has been weaning for quite a while due to reflux, he is now on 3 meals a day and the aim was for him to have 5 times 7oz bottles a day, the issue is at the moment since he is eating more, he is refusing his nighttime bottle meaning he is waking up early morning like 4am starving! His routine is a little bit like this:

7am bottle
8am breakfast
10am bottle
1pm bottle
2pm lunch
5pm bottle
6pm dinner
7:30/8:00 bottle

I don't know whether I should cut out his 5pm bottle and change it for dinner in the hope that he might be more hungry before bed and drink his bottle?? I'm not sure when you're supposed to cut bottles and don't want to do it too early if he still needs the milk. He has milk in his cereal for breakfast, some sort of cheese at lunch and a yoghurt with his dinner so he is having dairy with meals... any advice would be helpful please☺️

Have you been advised by a paediatrician or a paediatric dietitian to speed up weaning because 3 meals a day is what you should be starting to work towards at 6 months. It’s normal for a 6 month old baby to wake up several times a night for milk. I would just be giving a bottle at 4 and then trying to get him back to sleep.

A minimum of 20oz is recommended from 6 months. I would maybe try what you suggest and give dinner at 5pm and then bedtime bottle at the usual time.

Agree that it's a minimum of 20 floz at this age so there's no need to worry, although the early waking might not be ideal Smile

You could try demented's suggestion or try giving lunch at 12 noon and then give the 5pm bottle at 4pm.
