How many nappies?

In your experience with a newborn, how many nappies do you go through a week and how many packets of wipes (say there's 50/60 in a pack)
I'm just trying to work out and prepare in advance, and as a FTM, I've never done this before so am a little confused. Thank you in advance.

Online seems to suggest around 10 per day for newborn, decreasing down to around 6 per day as time goes on.

I would say you need 2-3 wipes per change if using disposable type.

About 8 a day with a new baby. You change them almost every feed to start. Wipes I don’t really know but if you are looking to make things easy if you can’t get to the store or find wipes, I really recommend cloth wipes. They work much better and you never have to buy more or stress about running out. Disposable wipes are still helpful for out of the house but probably you won’t be going to many baby groups and such this year.

Yes 8-10 per day for the first couple of months. Baby wipes I'd say around 2 packs every 3 weeks. Reusable wipes are way better though (and actually I prefer cloth nappies too but I have twins this time and no tumble dryer so I couldn't manage in the winter when they were new!)

I would just buy one packet because you don't know what size your baby will be and which ones will work best for them. You can easily buy more when you know what you need. And midwives recommend water and cotton wool rather than wipes. They will also tell you to avoid all baby bath additives and just use plain water.

I would deffo advise cotton wool and water for in the house. So much easier and more efficient. Get a cotton wool please rather than roll. Wipes easier for out and about. I'd get 2 big packs then order your next when you're into your second.
