How much do you actually get done?

If you have a baby 6 months or under, what do you actually get done in a day?

Atm, especially with lockdown, I get out for a walk, do feeds and changes, struggle with naptimes and then give dc a bath before bed.

In terms of anything else, I sort some kind of evening meal each night, do washing every few days and the days I don't wash I'm folding clothes away and trying to sort out the odd tiny thing. I don't do anything useful or progressive, just keep things moving really. I do feel quite useless and like I'm not making the most of lockdown at all!

Dh says I need to be kind to myself and that this is normal for a baby under 6 months, but I feel like my mum friends are much more superwomen. Dh does the deep cleaning of the house on weekends.

I always have plans to do things like attend more classes (dc always plays up when zoom comes on and timing never works), gardening (pfft! I've barely gone into our little yard and when it's warm it's too hot for dc!) and I always thought I would sort the spare bedroom out. It's still a tip! It's been almost 6 months!

Side from all the baby stuff like feeding and changing. We go out for a walk morning or early afternoon.

When she naps i read. Evening they're clothes in wash. Put away clothes before i go to bed.

Dinner gets made at 6-7 after baby goes to bed.

Can't be arsed with anything more than general clean would rather read book. Might clean toilet one day, sink the next lol. Place isn't filthy. It all gets done in dribs and drabs.

Before this dumb lockdown i sent to baby groups and classes. I feel i got now done back then!

Sounds about as much as I get done; I keep things in the house ticking over with a bit of hoovering although that’s in part because that provides some useful white noise but I don’t do much that involves concentration

Feeling a bit better already. I used to do so much and being home all day, I sometimes can't deal with how slow I am to achieve simple things.

Your husband is right. Don't put any pressure on yourself.
If you want to achieve something, maybe something 'fun'like making little footprint gifts for family who are probably missing baby ( I'm only going to crafts because I've got a newborn and a toddler)
Otherwise, just chill!

About the same. I've just started weaning and that seems to take up most of my day. Then changing, naps, singing incy wincy spider a million times a day. Might get a load of washing and the dishes done. Any other cleaning has to wait until DP gets home. I've been trying to read the same book since lockdown started. Every time I pick it up I get distracted or fall asleep!

You won’t look back on this time and wish you’d done more housework or tidied more cupboards. I got nowt done when DS was 6 months but didn’t worry myself about it, so long as the basics were done and he was fed and watered.
Nowadays I have a bit more time (he’s 1) but I’m still entirely unproductive.

I got barely anything done until my little one started napping without being attched to me! Even then it was a small window used wish (hot cup of tea/nap/dishes/nothing big).
Be kind to yourself, adjust your expectations on yourself and your household chores. It can be tough nurturing a wee one.

Mine is 3 months and I have a four year old, baby will only nap on me. I get very little done! Laundry every day (baby likes watching me hang it in the garden from his bouncy chair), some dinners (DP does the others), some putting away of clothes, keeping on top of some basic chores.

I occasionally manage 15-20 mins of gardening of an afternoon if DC1 is playing with DP and DC2 is in the bouncy chair on the patio. Otherwise, that’s it. Managed to clean the loo yesterday evening when I was able to transfer him to DP asleep, but that’s a rarity. I’d love to be decorating, gardening and reading Meaningful Books but at the moment, going to the loo by myself is about as good as it gets!
