Sorry if this is in the wrong category.
Anyone that has had a baby at 18... what was it like, how did your future progress, in terms of everything. Financially how did you cope as well?

My cousin did. Of course she loves her DD, but it really made her life very difficult. She was about to go to university and had a really promising future ahead. It was hard for her watching all of us going off to uni, travelling and partying. She has never really got off the ground in terms of a career or education and is not all that happy. It is such a shame.

Ok, I can't answer this as an older mum - had my kids at 40 and 43, BUT from that perspective it seems to me that if you have your kids young, you can have them and then, when they are adults you are still young, about 40, and can start a whole new life, career, relationship, whatever, unencumbered by children. It seems to me a great idea!

I had Dd1 at 19 . It was hard but I just cracked on. Went to uni, had a job, travelled and bought a house.
It was hard but I was young, energetic and determined.

I had DD just after I turned 19. I still went to uni (took her with me and she went to the university nursery), then did a Master's degree, then law school and then work. I was pretty lucky in that it worked out well - I got an au pair to look after DD when I started working (went into the City and worked insane hours).

It was difficult but I think being so young at the time I just got on with it. I didn't have a 'typical' student experience and it was exhausting trying to juggle a degree with a non-sleeping toddler but it got so much easier as she grew.

I had my first baby at 19. We did fine! Motherhood made me more determined to do well and have a career. I’m now a college lecturer. My baby is now 33, has 2 undergrad degrees, 1 post grad dip. 1 MA and 1 MSc. She’s a cognitive behavioural therapist and has her own private practice. We’re very close. I have no regrets at all.

My mum had me when she was 17. We didnt have much growing up but i remember the love and fun times rather than the stuff. My mum said she never regretted a second
