Slow flow teats

DS is 4 weeks and breast fed but have started to offer him bottled if expressed milk in the evenings. We bought the 2 of Tommee Tippee bottles with size 1 tests but these are far to fast for him. He spends the whole feed coughing, spluttering, gulping, finishes the feed in about 5 minutes, then burps and it all comes back up. Does anyone know any other bottles with a much slower teat that he actually has to work for the milk and slow it down? Thanks

Dr brown's my dear. Much to my 7 weeks old disappointment he now has to work for his food x

Do these leak like some of the reviews say? Also are there any others we could try incase that isn’t slow enough. We used one called breast flow with dd but they have now been discontinued.

Never had a problem with dr browns at all. The only others I van suggest is Philips avent anti colic. Both are fine

Have a google if paced bottle feeding technique- may slow his feeding down a bit.

Dr Browns leak 4 us when we heat milk in it so i used to heat milk in out tommee tippee and transfer. Other than the flow, i didnt think they were worth the expense. My son got used to the TT flow quite quickly & hates dr brown bottles

Mam bottles are quite good and you can get really slow flow teats.

The medela breast pump that we bought came with a bottle which was designed for breast feeding babies. We used that for the first month or 2 then switched to Mam.

We got and still use the boots own brand bottles. They are 99p and are honestly the best bottles out of them all.
We were recommended them by the midwife for the same reason as you (although I didn't BF).
For 99p you could have a go

I’d recommend Mam bottles as they have extra slow flow teats (Size 0) you can buy separately and that’s done wonders for my baby boy as he had the same problem with drinking too fast

Same issue here. NUK size 1 small teats, had to order online as size 2 is the standard for newborns.

We used a Minbie XS for expressed milk with DD.
