Kinetic sand

Hi I'm a total newby to children's products. Got my 16 month old a sand and water table but can't get hold of any play sand (sold out or unavailable EVERYWHERE online) only kinetic sand, which is expensive but I don't mind paying more as long as it's ok to use it with water. Does anyone know? Will it be ruined if it gets wet?

Thank you Smile

However it is for ages 3 plus so not suitable for a 16 month old.

“The producer makes it clear that only 3-year-olds and older children should play with it”

Kinetic sand is different, it's more like play doh.
A large branch of Tesco near me has lots of play sand - it might be worth phoning to check your area.

I wouldn’t put it in water, I think that would ruin it. It’s fab stuff though, my two love it (but they are older)

For the water table - recycling tubs can be good fun. The ones for fruit with holes in the bottom, bottles with different types of lids. If you use plastic milk bottles, try to put holes in the lid (e.g. with a nail and hammer) and it can become a watering can.
Play sand is great too, my 8yo is spending hours each day with the sand and water table he got as a toddler. Include some toy dinosaurs or little people with the sand and water too.

You can make non toxic kinetic sand with flour and oil.

We love kinetic sand in this house

Resisted buying it for a while as I thought it would be a mess but no it’s fab!

Can’t get it wet though

Thanks. Have paid through the nose for some normal play sand (couldn't find it in any supermarket round here so had to pay £20 on amazon). Noticed it was £2.50 on Tesco online but not available at the moment.

Looking forward to getting some kinetic sand for indoors when he is older!
