12 month check/ immunisations

Hi, I've tried looking it up, but can't find anything. Does anyone know if baby will still get his 12 month development check and/or 12 month jabs as normal with everything going on now?

Not sure if things will get cancelled or pushed back? DS is 12 months in 3 weeks and as yet haven't had anything through in the post.

Thank you

I’ve been told that immunisations will go ahead on schedule regardless of Covid as they are so important - we’ve got ours booked for 8 weeks and will have the rest on schedule too. Worth ringing surgery next week to confirm.

Phone your surgery and ask.
I’m almost positive that the immunisations will still go ahead, but the 12 month check might not. Do you have concerns about your son that you need to discuss at the check?

Kcoffecakebubs · 12/04/2020 12:56

Thanks both. I'll give them a call to check.
No concerns, he's walking and seems to be developing well, he's our first so wasn't sure how important the checks were or what they entail.

DS turned 12 months last month and the surgery called a few days ago to book him in for his jabs next week. They’re going ahead as normal. I’d wait until he’s 1 and then call your surgery.
He had his hv 12 month check over the phone a few weeks ago although she said she’d arrange to come and see him once this was over.

My little niece has still been having her jabs as normal, but the health visitor appointment was done over the phone.

From memory, the jabs were at 13 months, and the HV check was 13-15 months? I live in Scotland, so it might be different here.

Our youngest has just has his 12m imms. Our surgery said PHE seems them to be 'essential'. Didn't do the check obviously and we have not had any communication about it but that may be because we opted out of health visitor services this time around.

Vaccines are going ahead and checks are happening over the phone in my area.

Our 12 month old recently had their immunisations.
We received a questionnaire for the 14 month check (Scotland). This said that the health visitor will phone us soon to discuss.

Thank you everyone. That's really helpful. I didn't even realise there was a questionnaire! 🙈

It would be a massive irony if the whole covid situation meant that vaccinations were cancelled as a lot of the things they vaccinate against are very dangerous illnesses and they'd struggle to catch up if they suspended them.
We found even the free healthy start vitamin drops are classed as essential so we could pick them up even when the health centre was almost locked down.
Seems like everything that's known to be an actual thing of importance is still on, but any general checks and meetings are off. If you see what i mean.

Kcoffecakebubs · 13/04/2020 08:46

@johnd2 that makes perfect sense regarding the vaccinations! I didn't realise I'd still be able to get the drops too, I just presumed they were completely shut. Just about to run out too, so that's good to know.
