8 month old constantly banging head on cot

Any advice on how to help would be great!
My 8 month old DD is constantly banging her head on the side of the cot, she must wake herself up at least 5 times throughout the night and she does it with a right bang. Obviously bumpers are a no go but is there anything out there than can protect her tiny perfect little head that is safe?? I am terrified she will do damage.
Thank you.Thanks

Is there a chance the cot is too small?

Air wrap - it’s a breathable Velcro bumper and is approved by the SIDS organisations

My 17 month old sleeps in her travel cot with a proper mattress all the time for this exact reason, has done for months and months.

My gs was 9 months when he first stayed with me, I got a travel cot because I didn't know how long he was staying, he got into a habit of rocking back and forth with his head against the (mesh) top

Real problem when I moved him into a proper cot at 12 months bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang I nearly put him back into the travel cot lol

He's 15 months old and he's stopped doing it thank god - I was told (at the time) it doesn't hurt them or they wouldn't do it so I stuck it out

My little girl was the same! We moved her into a travel cot with a decent mattress for about 6 weeks and she slept so much better. When she was less unsteady etc we moved her back into the cot. She's always been super clumsy, and at 17 months she still bangs her head multiple times of the night but it doesn't wake her now!

My DS was / is the same, banged his head, got his arms stuck, threw his dummy out etc. he didn’t really wake himself but I hated him banging his noggin!
we put him into his travel cot with a proper mattress in it for a few months and he slept like a dream, then when we moved him back to his cot we put air wraps around the sides and it was an easy transition.

We’ll take them out once he can stand etc (he’s one but can’t do any of that yet) but he’s used to his cot now, can unstuck himself and isn’t bothered about his dummy If it falls out. He still bangs his head off the top but it doesn’t bother him (or me as much now) and it Doesn’t wake him up. I figure he’ll cry if he hurts himself.

Not sure if she's doing it deliberately, but my DS bangs his head (deliberately) in the cot and has done since about 7-8 months. He's 13 months now, still does it. Possibly less, possibly the same. When he was approaching 12 months he was doing it a lot in the middle of the night on the headboard which was so loud, enough was enough. So we used the air wraps at either end to cushion the headboard with pillows/cushions. The pillows are behind the air wraps so not a SIDs hazard. It's massively improved, though he definitely still does it gets the odd small bruise if he does it on the wrong place on the bars.
