What age did you take your little ones dummies away? Little one is 16 months due another baby in under 7 weeks and woke today thinking we will do it today always keep wanting to but teething etc always came in the way! Just thinking we are sat in all day every day if she has a rough night it's not so bad can catch up sleep during the day etc when she naps! Opinions please and any one find a good way off doing it so young? X

You think it's hard because they're so attached to it but really cold turkey and 3-4 nights of your comfort they will be over it!

Just make sure they don't see another one for a few weeks too even when they stop asking for it (incase you FaceTime other family with babies or go out for a walk etc)

Really do it now because when baby comes it's not something you'd want to do on top of all the other things x

Thank you just hard she has never been a cuddly baby so never been cuddled to sleep really since 3 months she doesn't even sleep with a blanket or anything it's just her dummy so am hoping it all goes okay. We have been wanting to do it since she turned 1 but never seemed the right time with teething etc. But feeling positive about it today. Do I let her cry a little then go back in lie her down etc? And just keep doing that for however long it takes till she settles? How long is to long for them to cry? X

So we are now 24 hours without a dummy. Yesterday's nap was over a hour trying to settle them put her in the pram and managed to settle her in the pram where she slept with no dummy for nearly 3 hours I had to wake her. Last night took a hour for her to settle but hardly any proper crying and she slept all night without waking up! Hope it continues like this! X

Thank you! Just put her for her nap in the cot and she only took just over 10 minutes to put herself to sleep! X
