Hi all
I have a little boy who will be 7 months old on 18th April. We've managed to drop the dream feed successfully but I want to check our current schedule to see what people's thoughts are as I'm not sure if he's getting too much milk! I've weighed him this morning on our scales and he is approximately 9.9kg, but I'm not sure how accurate this is.
My partner is currently working from home due to lockdown and does 8 hours shifts between 8am and 6pm, I am currently on maternity leave but due to return to work in July, when if things are back to some kind of 'normal' LO will be going to nursery at about 8.15am until around 5pm.
I've tried to work his mealtimes out around the nursery schedule and he is currently eating about 3 cubes food per meal with good variety. He is formula fed and doesn't always finish his bottles but always finishes his food and has water to drink with it.
6.45: LO wakes up, babbles happily away until we go to him
7.00 -7.30: get up and dressed
7.30 - 8.00: 210ml bottle (approx 7.5oz)
8.30: breakfast, usually porridge and fruit puree
9.15: nap for 30-45 minutes
10.30: 210ml bottle (approx 7.5oz)
12.00: lunch (vegetables)
12.15: nap for 1-1.5 hours
14.00: 210ml bottle (approx 7.5oz)
16.00: dinner/tea (vegetables)
16.30: nap for 30-45 minutes
18.00: 210ml bottle (approx 7.5oz)
18.15: bath, massage, story and cuddles to sleep
19.00: Mummy and Daddy get to eat and start our evening!
He then sleeps through the night, generally only waking and needing us if he's rolled over (he can't get back over yet) or if he's unwell or unsettled.
What are people's thoughts and advice please? I know every baby is different and he is big for his age, I just looked on the formula tin this morning and saw that at 7 months the guidance is 3 bottles per day. I'd heard before that babies will automatically start taking less milk when their food increases, but we're not really seeing much of this.
The timings work pretty well for us at the moment, particularly bedtime, but I don't want to keep it as-is if it's going to be detrimental to his health!
Thank you
