Thick first time mum question but my baby is due in July and I just have no clue what I need to get for them to sleep in like sleeping bag/ blanket etc?! I have a next to me cot for them but what do I actually put them in Blush Do you have to wait till they are a bit bigger for a sleeping bag?

Swaddling then is best, they have a Moro reflex which causes their arms to spring out so if they aren't swaddled they will wake themselves with their arms frequently.
You can get sleep bags for newborns but I'd recommend swaddling them for the first couple of months.
"Love to dream"sleep bags are good as well though

We used sleeping bags from birth but they have a minimum weight limit. Otherwise cellular blankets are the recommended option, you can layer them up if it's chilly.

We used cellular blanket and the coverlet that came with the crib and later the cot bedding sets. I hate sleeping bags and swaddling and never saw the need

We had a grosnug, they're suitable from 5 lb. DS kicked off blankets and wriggled out of swaddles from the word go so it was perfect.

We used a GroSnug with number 2, you can button the arm holes up so it's a swaddle or leave them open so it's just a sleeping bag. First baby was born in May and she mostly slept in a nappy...

I have a love to dream but my little one doesn't settle in it, I have a friend who's little one loved it though!

I just carried on doing what the midwives had done in the hospital. Swaddle in one cellular blanket and lay another on top. Works for us.

Get a pack of 3/4 cellular blankets to start with. If your little one doesn't settle well or you don't like using them then you can get a sleeping bag or swaddling bag etc and try those in due course.

Good luck!

My July DD slept with a cellular blanket or sheet over her.
