Taking newborn for walks

Hello!

We had our second baby a few days ago and didn't really receive much advice on how to cope with lockdown other than no visitors.

Should we be taking her for a walk each day or are you avoiding doing so? My husband would rather we just kept her inside but I always feel like fresh air is good.

Thanks!

Congratulations! Your newborn does need to go for a walk. X

I don't think there's any pressing need to. If you have a garden or any outside space you can go there but don't feel you need to go for a walk if that's the only reason.

But equally if you want to then go for it!

I'd have lost my sanity without the daily walk around the block with the new baby in the sling / pram! I'd go for it op and obviously just keep your distance from others.

Annoyingly we don't have a garden so it's walks or nothing! I think I'll probably go for it, we live on a very quiet street and it's so warm! Thank you.

I’ve been taking mine; I keep to quiet streets and I feel that the pram provides additional protection especially with the hood up.

Without a daily walk I’d go crazy- enjoy the air. Round your local streets is fine.

I know 2 people who have had babies in the last month. They have definitely been going for walks. Baby is in a sling facing mum/dad and inside their coat so well protected from others.

Slightly different question but seems silly to make new thread...

What about getting tongue tie snipped?!

We FaceTimed with our NCT lactation lady from last time and she said she does have it. Feeding is painful but I could probably grin and bear it if I needed to. Asked my Doctor friend who said just get it sorted but I'm scared to take her to someone's house / see someone who we don't know might have it!
