Can I give Calpol six plus to a baby (using correct dose mg/ml weight)

Ds is teething and in pain, getting 5ml of infant calpol into him is a complete nightmare, and after the first half he starts spitting/dribbling/sickying it out.
I’ve got a chart here for weight based dosing, he’s over 9kg (8 months old) looking at the dosages I should be able to give him just under 2.5ml of sixplus and achieve the same dosage as 5ml of infant?
120mg per 5ml infant
250mg per 5ml 6plus

So giving him 2.5ml of 6plus is 125mg of paracetamol which is correct for his age and weight, has anyone else done this?

I use 2ml of the 6 plus but otherwise yes

Yes you can if you are confident of your calculations. The only difference between the 2 is the concentration. 2.5mls of 6plus for an infant sounds a lot though. Be cautious

If you would normally give 5ml of infant then it’s fine to give 2.5 of six plus.

Thanks everyone - on the weight dosage chart the maximum dose of 6plus for 9kg is 2.7 ml so aiming for 2.5ml (or just under) is safe! (Chart provided by a pharmacist)
