Hi ladies. Just want some opinions. My Son is 14 weeks on Wednesday and since before he was born family have said to try him on baby porridge at 3 months, packets say 4 months. Would you? Have you? I know he would eat/love it as he loves his food, very chunky baby🙂
Thank you

No, and please don't do this! 14 weeks is way too young. The NHS guidelines say 6 months for a reason. There's tonnes of information on this online, so please do some research before you do anything. Baby food can say 4 months on it as it's not illegal to do so and they want to make as much profit as possible. This doesn't mean that it's recommended to start solids that young.

He may love his food but that doesn't mean he's ready for porridge. He isn't going to be able to sit up in a high chair or have the ability to roll the food around his mouth at 3 months old. If he is eating well then he is getting all the nutrients he needs from his milk, why would you need to add porridge to his diet. Follow
NHS guidelines and wait until 6 months 😊

No!!!! Not unless he's severely failing to thrive and youve been told to do so by a doctor.

No, his gut is not ready for solids yet despite what the packet says.

No wait till 6 months for any food

No!

Absolutely not. Guidance on introducing foods has changed so much over the years you're really best ignoring anyone who has adult children and just go by the nhs website.
