I received notification yesterday that my nursery will not be charging fees while they are closed, which is very welcomed. Or rather, they will be "suspending invoicing". I pay one month in advance and as a single parent on a not wholly spectacular wage, I get tax credits to help towards the cost.
Now, do I tell tax credits today (via the app) that my childcare will be costing 0 going forwards, or do I wait until April? I won't be getting a refund for the remainder of March (which is fine, given the circumstances).
My annual income for next year will also be drastically different to this year (I changed my hours part way through the year and have changed jobs). Maybe I should just make all the changes at once in April? To be fair, with no childcare to pay it might be that I'm no longer eligible for tax credits and will be switched to UC when DS goes back, which isn't ideal but it looks like I have plenty of time to save up.
