DS is 13 days old and already i feel like i have got used to disposables - so today we are going cloth!

I put a Muslin envelope fold on him this morning and within an hour it was soaked but i didn't put a booster\fleece in? would this have stopped it? is this had i make the muslin absorbent? ( do like the idea of using these as they are not as bulky for his tiny body and i have loads of them)

So after this disaster i got out a bimbles and he now has that on with a throw away liner, and Newborn wrap and his bum looks MASSIVE, im paranoid that he cant move his legs as much and that there is a lot of weight on his tummy!! think im being over worrying, please someone tell me that he wont always look massive! and that he is ok!

Thank you xx

How big is he? (weight/clothes etc) - mine is in the petite toddler and they seem to be a really nice fit on him. He's 18 months, but only diddy (mainly in 9-12 month clothes).

The weight range with petite toddler and large are the same, i think one is more suited to once they have slimmed down and toddling (will lay two out tomorrow and compare them!!)

He's about 20 pounds, wearing mainly 9-12. Fat thighs I ordered a zoo medium from you, was just thinking I might not get good use out of it!

FlameBatfink · 09/09/2007 21:08

You can send it back and get a refund/bigger size if you want (no large or petite prints though ) You probably won't get a great deal of use out of it - there can't be that much between yours and mine!

I have ONE print, but it is flowers!!!

Nappyzone might do prints in other pockets?

nappyzone · 09/09/2007 21:37

i have a large scarey fuzzi trains - my ds is 10 month and hes onthe smallest but one setting on his fuzzis - i think mine will get quite some time out of my mediums yet as hes no where near having a builders bum in them. Hes a 21lb but his thighs are thinning out now he never stays still sothey might be life in them yet!

daisy... i too had the delights of the new ellas house this week - i put a thin insert in with it and there was still dry places - i was well impressed!

the only other pockety print with poppers i know of would be the new momys touch with poppers - i have a baby safari due in in 3 days! im sure there are others i just havent found them yet!

daisyandbabybootoo · 09/09/2007 21:44

wicking.....like a candle wick sucking up the melted wax....

the fleece inner is transferring moisture to the outside of the outer wrap at the leg elastic and then wetting her clothes. It's worse with the fuzzis, so maybe the popper fit just isn't good for her. It doesn't happen with the happy heiney as much.

daisyandbabybootoo · 09/09/2007 21:46

I didn't bother with an insert, but they are the bigger size and she's only about 14 lbs in weight. they seem much more absorbent than the old second hand ones I bought.

Pinky....is it all clear as mud yet?

nappyzone · 09/09/2007 21:47

this is it on the mommys touch usa sitehere

FlameBatfink · 09/09/2007 21:52

Ooh the safaris are lovely! I'll only have them when babykind list em

nappyzone · 09/09/2007 21:57

pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 10/09/2007 09:22

Hi Pink ? people don?t realize how confusing the real nappy world is, eh? I think big cloth nappy bums are so cute, and I?m loving this bodysuit!

To add my two pence worth, I prefer the two-piece system of nappy and wrap because I feel it gives better containment and is less likely to wick (unless you forget to tuck the nappy into the wrap properly ? as I found out in the early days!!) than the one-piece pocket or AIO. The two-piece system can also work out cheaper as you only buy a few wraps, where as with the pocket/AIO system the wrap is on every nappy and so the cost reflects that! Having said that I do have a few pocket nappies because they are slimmer, especially the Fuzzi Bunz, and they are very quick to change when baby gets ?wriggly baby? syndrome and will barely lie still to get a nappy on, let alone a wrap too!

And accessorizewithbabysick (love the name BTW) my son also grew out of his medium Fuzzis, and medium Motherease wraps come to that, at about 10 months, but then, very oddly at about 14 months he slimmed back into them and still wears them now at 18 months. I guess it?s when he started to run around and be very active!
