Baby neck rash

DS is 6 weeks old and when bathing him last night I noticed his neck was quite red and sore, a sort of spotty rash was forming there in his little neck rolls. I washed it gently, pat dried and then used baby powder to stop it chafing. This afternoon I've noticed it looks a bit more angry and sore, it doesn't seem to bother him when I touch it or wash it so I'm hoping it's not painful. Washed it again with wasn't water and applied some barrier cream but wondering if anyone has any advice on how to clear it up?

I think it caused by his shoulder getting wet, he's quite a sicky baby and it's on the side that he tends to turn his head when sleeping so I'm thinking it's from him being sick when he's in bed/napping and neither of us catching it to dry it up and change him. I try to make sure he's not sat in wet clothes or a wet bib but at night when we're sleeping it's going to be difficult to keep on top of and I'm worried it'll get worse and painful for him. Is there anything I can do to keep him more comfortable?

Seeing the health visitor tomorrow so can get some help from them but in the meantime any advice would be very appreciated!

My daughter gets exactly the same thing (7mo).

I think it's from sick getting in the neck rolls Confused

After her bath I carefully dry the creases then apply Sudocrem, works a charm and it is gone the next day.

Maybe mention it to HV just in case!

Congrats on your new baby Flowers

My DD got it lots when she was a baby it was cause she was quite chubby love her despite washing under her chin it just got a bit moist best thing to do is make sure it's clean and dry and put barrier cream on it daily.
Also ask HV what's best to use I was once recommended Vaseline by mine as a daily barrier

Possibly it might be thrush if the area gets very moist. Ds had it as a baby there. Ask your HV tomorrow.
