My daughter is to have her injections tomorrow. Everyone has me scared about it more than I originally had been.
Some people tell me it’s jabs some ppl tell me it’s a mix of jabs and drops.
This is my first so I don’t no what to expect
Where are the given? Is it all injection form? Should I give calpol after or just of needed?

Any advise?

Many thanks

It's jabs in the top of the thigh and some drops in the mouth.
She will be absolutely fine, the nurse will talk you through it. She will possibly cry, but it will be for seconds, she will be ok.
A lot of my friends were like "you'll cry more than he will... it's more upsetting for mum etc" in all honesty, I was fine, I just cuddled him after.
If you're calm and relaxed, she will be too and will get over it quicker.
By the time you've left the surgery she will be happily babbling again.

You are supposed to give 3 doses of liquid paracetamol after the 8 week jabs due to the MenB vaccine

Also the nurse will advise on calpol, I was told to five him one dose when we got home and a second dose 4 hours later if he had a temp, same advice for all 3 sets of vaccinations.

After MenB 3 doses of paracetamol are recommended regardless of whether they have a fever

My DS spat out the first dose of Calpol I gave him (understandably - it was the first thing he'd ever had in his mouth apart from milk). He then got quite grizzly and fussy that afternoon. I called the GP who said just give the next dose in 4 hours and do it really slowly, a bit at a time. After that DS was fine.

I'm another one who was gearing up for it to be this dreadful thing but actually it was OK. I just looked away as the nurse did the jabs and cuddles and fed DS straight after. He did cry briefly but I just told myself it was much, much better than risking my baby getting any of the illnesses which the vaccines protect against.

Be warned, the rotavirus drops might make her poo smell awful.

Things went great she was a star and only got a little fussy in the afternoon but settled with cuddles

The only thing is her feeding has decreased since Tuesday she was taking 6-7 ounces every 3 hours but now taking only 3-4. Anyone else experienced this?

They do that all the time tbh. Mine used to change amounts just as you were getting used to what they were taking
