Sudacrem Child Proof Container Idea

My brother in law has mentioned to me to me the potential nightmare around children getting into sudocrem pots and spreading it everywhere. I am an engineer and enthusiastic 3D printer and think I may have come up with a solution for a child Proof container using my printer but I am trying to gauge community interest in something like this. The aim would be to house a large or medium run of sudocrem inside a holder and replace the pop lid with a screw top. The holder would be reuseable and the tub could be removed by the parent and replaced when empty. There would be windows cut out to show it is sudacrem and the expirey date as well.

Would this be helpful for people ? These would be 3D printed and for the large tub it would probably cost in the order of £20 to make and ship
The medium tub would be around £13 for the same

Regards

Grant

Just keep the pot out of reach of the kids Wink

Another parent saying you keep it out of reach, just like medicines you may have in the changing bag to deal with teething.

Keep on a high shelf. I learned the hard way. DS was very quiet in his room. Went in to check and his entire carpet was white. He had studiously worked handfuls of the stuff in, using a scrubbing, circular motion.

I don't use sudocrem, I use a different brand. There are plenty of things that need to be kept out of children's reach.

PawPatrolMakesMeDrink · 07/03/2020 18:41

DS is almost 3 and I don’t think I made it half way through a jar before I lobbed it as he didn’t need it any more.
Certainly wouldn’t be paying £20 for an item I can just put on a shelf.

BeyondMyWits · 07/03/2020 18:42

Another one who just puts it out of reach like other non-child friendly things.

Aquicknamechange2019 · 07/03/2020 18:44

I keep my sudocreme on a high shelf so have never had accidents with it. I'd have been more likely to buy this as a pregnant first time mum, but £20 is still a bit on the high side.

sunshineandshowers21 · 07/03/2020 18:45

it’s not a bad idea, but i definitely wouldn’t pay £20 for it when i could just stick the pot up in a cupboard.

Sux2buthen · 07/03/2020 18:46

I'd wait for the knock of version in the pound shop Grin

Off

The large tubs of sudocreme do have screw lids dont they?

blablablablablablabla · 07/03/2020 18:55

I also keep out of reach.

It depends what the container looked like really but no way £15 or £20, maybe £1-3.

Thisismytimetoshine · 07/03/2020 18:58

Just put it in a high shelf. Nobody’s going to spend money on a Sudocrem prison.

TwoZeroTwoZero · 07/03/2020 18:59

The thing with child proof containers is that I can't get into them either. I have to ask the chemist to put normal lids on the medicine bottles because I can't open the clicky ones.

Seeline · 07/03/2020 19:01

The problem with a screw top is that ideally you need two hands to open it. You rarely have two hands free whilst nappy changing......

sewinginscotland · 07/03/2020 19:25

Screw top is not child proof, my 16mo can easily open one.

I just keep the sudocrem up high out of his reach. I learnt to do this the hard way, I think it's a parenting right of passage. I don't think anyone will pay £20 for a container when you could buy a £2 tupperware box from tesco to acheive the same end goal.

Smurfy23 · 07/03/2020 23:49

Nappy changing is hard enough- especially with a toddler who youre trying to keep away from the sudocrem- to be fannying about trying to open the sudocrem.

Sorry- I wouldnt be buying.
