Everybody is different. Personally it would take me about 10-20 mins depending on the time of day (it would take longer in the evenings, less time first thing in the morning) but I considered myself to have a plentiful supply. I know mums that would never get anywhere near that amount no matter how long they pumped for yet had no problem successfully breastfeeding their child. are you concerned about how much you are able to pump?

what i'm saying is, there is no "set time" that it should take. 200ml is quite a lot (7oz) so don't be discouraged if you can't get to this amount. You can also pump and store in the fridge or freezer and combine amounts to get what you need for a feed. Just make sure you cool any freshly expressed milk down before adding it to already fridge temperature milk

I used to feed on one side and express on the other first thing (assuming I'd had any sleep) and found that the best system.

I don't think I ever got that amount in one go! I found pumping hard (but breastfeeding easy).

It takes me 20 mins to get about 15 ml but DD was happily ebf from 6 weeks until 6 months when I started to introduce food.

The kellymom website has lots of great info about expressing.

10 mins? But I do have a very strong supply. First thing in the morning after downing a pint of water works well for me

That's 2 days worth for me! 50ml per pump

DefConOne · 06/03/2020 19:11

About 4 days😂 gave up on pumping but bf was fine.

About 20 mins. I had a twin electric pump. Worth the £150 I paid for it.
