Breastfeeding whilst pregnant - will it just hurt more and more?

I'm 4 months pregnant and still breastfeeding my 2-year old toddler before bed. I'd be happy with this, except it's starting to really hurt. I don't think she's doing anything different, more that I'm more sensitive. I don't want to stop - as it really calms her down before bed - but will have to if it doesn't get better.

My question is: does it get better as the pregnancy progresses? Or does it just get worse?

Magnesium can help, not very well digested but you can use a spray or cream (usually marketed for restless legs). Typically considered safe in pregnancy.

I found the first 12 weeks of pregnancy worst to feed in (esp with sickness involved). However, I was exceedingly glad I had a toddler still feeding when the milk came in for the new babies (I've tandem fed multiple times). Having a child who was happy to take off the excess and stop the pain of those early engorged days was brilliant!!

I found that my toddlers didnt like the change in the taste, they called it 'bicy (spicy)':) so they self weaned, I think it has to do with your supply dropping, feels like the sucking on empty.

Thanks for the replies.

stairgates - when did the spiciness first rear its head? I've heard about this, but so far DD is still loving the milk and can't get enough
