Pampers nappies toxic? Perscription iron pills.

I'm due to have a DD on the 25th of march and thought I would turn out to be a Pampers snob so bought a few packets. I have naturally been reasearshing everything furiously and have discovered that they use cancerous chemicals in the absorbent core. Is this still the case ? I dose anyone know. I cant seem to find a straight answer on Google.

I have been prescribed iron tablets but they are making me physically sick. Would it be okay to take non perscription ones. Or do you think they will be to weak. ?

Is this what you mean?

It's not just Pampers. It's all disposable nappies. If you're concerned, try reusable nappies. They're also cheaper overall and better for the environment. They also leak less than disposables (we used Pampers premium and found them way less reliable).

I'd ask your doctor about the iron tablets.

You know the sun is cancerous? Alcohol etc fumes from traffic...

I don’t know if it’s still the case with disposable nappies.

They won’t be as strong but you can try different ones (ferrous sulphate might be better than ferrous fumarate or vice versa for you). Otherwise there is a liquid you could try.

Thankyou. Yes the newspaper article is what I was referring too. I have looked at eco type ones and Pampers pure. They are all unfortunately upwords of £8 pounds packet I might have to go for amazon. Was thinking about cloth nappies but I have no washing machine just the laundarett at the end of my road.

Just buy cheaper nappies or use cloth. Pampers have an awful chemical smell and I couldn’t stand them. Cheaper ones were fine. They are £9 a pack here for the size 4 ones, no way most people could afford that on nappies every month. Cloth is really manageable when they are little.

As for no washing machine, you can pay for a service that delivers laundered nappies to you and takes away the dirty ones. More expensive yes but probably similar to using disposables.

I did a lot of research about the chemicals in baby products and nappies. Generally I do not use products with SLS, Parabens etc and havent done so for a very long time as I know the harm it does. I was extremely worried at the level of chemicals in all baby products and bought supplies with as least amount of chemicals as possible, one of the worst offenders is nappies and I know they can be expensive but we did buy beaming baby and kit and kin alongside reusable nappies.
