My 4yr old still has cradle cap, it's come and gone over the years.
If really noticeable I use the dentinox shampoo but I've heard people using aloe gels as well.
Which would work better on a baby with I'm assuming not so much hair, I've not tried on DD as it might be quite messy with thicker hair.

I’ve always had success with rubbing olive oil into their scalps, leaving for a few hours and then gently combing out the flakes. My school aged child still gets cradle cap and I find the combing out process oddly satisfying!

Olive oil.

Put on. Apply hat or cap. Remove after a few hours.

Gently slide your fingers across the scalp, removing both oil and flakes.

Olive oil and comb. Grossly satisfying.

Baby oil rubbed in 30 mins before bath. We were recommended this by a nurse.

DC is 2 and we seem to have finally got rid of the stuff.

Cradle cap shampoo to keep on top of it

Olive oil and soft brush then leave and comb out to get the main build up off

I also found it immensely satisfying to get rid of it

Aveeno shampoo got rid of overnight

Thanks so much for all your replies. We had it with DD but it wasn't as bad and it cleared up when we had a weeks holiday in Italy with some sun but that won't be happening any time soon!

Olive oil. My DS had the worst case my GP had ever seen. Was given mild steroid cream at its worst. He was going to refer to dermatology but it did respond to olive oil. I'll try and find a pic tomorrow.
When it shed he had the most lovely skin underneath. It was down to his nose, around his ears. Poor pet.

Oh my goodness. Your poor little boy! Thanks for all the advice on the olive oil. We'll start on that today!

Dentinox shampoo worked really well for my DD, cleared it up very quickly.

Try again without the identifying photo!

He's 9 weeks old here and you can see it's right down to his wee nose.

Poor little man. At least they say it doesn't hurt. Thanks so much for sharing!

Wash baby's hair every day with a tiny bit of dentinox shampoo.

Lindy2 · 05/03/2020 18:18

I found oil or shampoo softened it well but didn't remove it. When it dried it was still attached.

What worked best for us was gently rubbing the wet cradle cap with a very soft baby hairbrush. I think it was one from the pound shop. It removed it brilliantly and very gently and revealed the lovely soft skin underneath.

Fleamaker123 · 05/03/2020 18:25

After shampooing always rinse the head/hair with fresh plain water, don't use the bath water. It helped prevent it for my DS
