Teething

Help! My DS is just over 5 months. He's been struggling with teething for a very long time. His first bottom tooth finally broke through. We've tried teething rings, Ashton & Parsons, Bonjela, calpol the lot. Nothing seems to be keeping him settled at night. Calpol doesn't even keep him asleep anymore. Wide awake at 5 after giving him a shot at 3.30. I hate giving him drugs but this the only way that settles him slightly but not enough for him to be able to get a proper sleep. Are there any other options other MILs have had success with? Especially at nighttime?

Give anbesol a try. And lots of cuddles! Teething is the worst.

Also I found Calprofen helped more than Calpol. Think the anti inflammatory aspect from the ibuprofen was better than just paracetamol.

Do I get this over the counter? X

@mummaoflogan great news!

Elliesmommy · 04/03/2020 11:47

Try nurofen suppositories with anbesol gel. The nurofen is better for teething as it brings down the inflammation

MummaOfLogan · 04/03/2020 20:22

@Elliesmommy will try the combination tomorrow. I bought the liquid because I heard the liquid is better than gel? Guess it's the same outcome though?

I used both. Found the gel better but that could have been just my baby

We used Calgel when ds was teething. It worked fine
