Any reason not to move baby to cot?

We're trialing a new system with DS1 (4 wks) where baby stays put in one room (spare room) all night, and DH and I swop beds between master bedroom and spare room depending on who is doing the next bottle feed. Thing is, baby's room, which we thought he wouldn't move in to until summer, is directly off the spare room - no landing or anything. If the door between the two rooms is open, is there any reason not to put baby straight into his cotbed at 4 wks?! Otherwise we will move his next2me into the spare room.

I've heard newborns breathing is regulated better by mum and to a lease extent, dad, breathing nearby too. Don't know how much truth in that, but they generally say to be in same room for first 6 months to reduce SIDS. Advice in UK

*lesser extent

No reason not to move into a cot. Some babies like the cosy feeling of a smaller space but some aren’t bothered. As pp says though the safe sleeping advice is to have a baby sleep in a room with an adult for all sleeps until 6 months.
