Double Buggy vs Board vs Sling?

Hi! I recently found out that I am pregnant with DC2 and due in November. DD is currently 15 months, doesnt walk yet, but I expect she will be walking by November. I get out a lot on my own to playgroups, shops etc, and am trying to figure out how to move around with both kids. I already have a Maxicosi Adorra with carseat, flat pram, isobase etc and I also have Baby Bjorn carrier (although I am not sure its suitable from newborn). I am reluctant to go buy a double buggy but I am not sure how well my DD would do with standing on a buggy board if I am out for half the day? Would maybe a sling for the newborn be a good option for the short term time until DD is better at standing on the board? Or should I just try find maybe a second hand double buggy? I am wondering what is the best option logistically. Has anyone had a (barely) 2 year old and a newborn and has any advice about what worked for you?

TIA!

No advice but have the same predicament. Baby 2 due in the autumn just as my eldest turns 2. I’ve decided to hold off until the summer to judge how likely he is cope with a buggy board. I want to avoid a double buggy if I can and would rather use a combination of buggy board/sling and my single pram. I think I’m just going buy a double buggy last minute if I think we need it.

Hmm. With that age gap I think I'd take the hit and get a double buggy. My DS is nearly 3 and for the last year we've used the pushchair a lot. Sometimes he gets tired and wants to rest in it, he has napped in there. It's handy when he wants to eat a snack on the move. And often he won't just walk in the direction we want to go, he'll wander around, run off etc, and there are times when you just need to strap him in the pushchair and get on with it!

Although the sling is a good idea and will come in handy, I think there will be times when you'll appreciate being able to put the baby down, especially with a toddler to chase around.

I had dc2 when dc1 was 2y4mo. We got a double buggy (free, secondhand). It's been fantastic - dc1 definitely wouldn't stand on a buggy board as aside from tiredness he is not the most compliant of toddlers so it's good to be able to strap him in and go.

There are 11 months between mine and we used a single buggy with a sling for the first 6 months (and would have done for longer if the baby hadn’t been in the 96th percentile). You’ll need a sling suitable for a newborn though – I had to use a cloth sling until he reached 7lbs.

Double buggy if your current dc isn't walking yet, it will be a long while before they are going long distances reliably. Also, a sling is great but can feel a bit suffocating if used all of the time in my experience

Get a double buggy in winter when peeing down with rain and/or toddler unwell or having an epic tantrum it just makes life easier plus more space for carrying stuff/shopping and so on...

Worth looking second hand. Nipper 360 if you don't mind side by side or Phil & Ted if you want in line.

But decent 2nd hand and you can sell on again without losing too much money if you don't use it.
