Reusable nappies - am I doing it wrong?

Specifically with regard to using paper liners - I have been using fleece liners which kept my baby’s bottom nice and dry but thought I’d give the paper liners a try now we’re weaning. My baby just ends up with soggy paper against her bottom as soon as she wees, which she’s not overly impressed with - am I doing something wrong? Are different brands different?

I can't get on with paper liners, id stick with fleece

Definitely stick with the fleece liners. I've never used paper ones but the thought of wet paper against my skin doesn't sound too comfortable.

I have more nappies than I do liners so sometimes I don't bother with a liner and my DD is almost two. I didn't find weaning poo to be any more troublesome than her normal poo.

Thank you - can I ask a delicate question - how do you clean off the fleece before it goes in the washing machine?

OP I give it a shake and it usually falls off into the loo. Stubborn bits get wiped off with toilet roll.

I've also heard some people keep a 'poo knife' in the bathroom Envy

It can help if you let it dry a bit before shaking into the loo. A bit like muddy boots!

If it doesn't drop off I tend to either dip the pooy liner in the toilet water which generally does the trick. Sometimes I resort to flushing and holding the fleece in the flushing water.

If you want disposable liners then there are some that aren't paper. Not sure what the material is called though! I'll see if it says on the packet.
