Baby sucking hands - moisturiser?

Hi everyone

My 12 week old has become really keen on sucking on her hands.

I am worried that she might take in harmful substances - I regularly need to use moisturiser on my hands as they are very dry then inevitably touch her hands with mine!

Also she is breastfeeding and I can't keep washing my nipples if I've touched them after applying moisturiser? Well I can but I'm not sure if it's me being ott.

Am I being overly worried? I have health anxiety. Also she's a pfb lol

Can you get a baby friendly moisturizer? But honestly I wouldn't worry myself.

I wouldn’t apply the moisturiser directly to her hands, but otherwise it’s absolutely fine. She’s touching worse things than that (the carpet during tummy time with year’s worth of allergens and chemicals from the dye, etc). I would just wash your hands after using the toilet or any cleaning chemicals.

Just make sure your hand cream is marked as suitable for babies, she'll be grand.

I say this as someone whose eight month old is determined to chew his hands to rags despite owning every teether on earth, and I've been slathering aquaphor on him for months now, doesn't seem to have killed him yet.

Maybe us a bit of jojoba or olive oil on your hands instead.
