Expensive travel buggy or clothes with vouchers

Hi guys....

We have been given lots of vouchers/money after new baby and wondering what to spend it on.

We have so many clothes that I was thinking if putting it towards a more expensive silvercross travel buggy I can take in the cabin on the plane as we visit family alot.

Just wondered what the more experienced parents amongst you thought. If you had the cash is it something you would spend more money on for a sturdier version or stick with a cheapy?

Is there anything that you would splurge on if you could? Interested to hear ideas before spending it.

P.s. would rather spend it in a one-er as it will probably just get frittered on formula and babygrow over the months if not.

Expensive travel buggy all the way! Clothes only fit for a few months then you pack them away, whereas a good buggy will last you through this baby and onto the next. Plus it sounds like you have loads of clothes already.

I’ve now stopped using my expensive travel system buggy as it’s just so bulky! The travel pram is now my everyday pram 😊

I'd probably go buggy too especially if you are travelling a lot - the alternative for me would be the next size up car seat (if you need one).

I’ve never had an issue travelling with a pushchair and I don’t think you need one to bring in the cabin with you. A buggy bag and checking it is easy enough and you may be asked to gate check it anyway. I wouldn’t go out of my way to get an expensive one though as they get thrown around a lot.

Personally, I would save up for a good quality ERF seat that you can use through to when your dc is 4. That’s a much better use of money. Ours cost us £400 and with daily use with 2 dc (it is good for 10 years), it’s a much better use of money than a travel buggy.

Buggy! Lasts much longer. If it wasn't that I would consider using it on a nice cot bed or next to me crib, decent baby monitor or car seat.

Buggy is a good idea but I'd also think about other things you will be needing to buy throughout the first year.
Maybe set some aside for some toys, highchair, monitor etc and get a cheaper buggy too?
