What Age for Early Morning Cartoons?

Just that really - how old was your oldest when you first let them go downstairs to watch cartoons by themselves when they woke up? Our son is about to turn 4 and I'm trying to figure out if he's too young still, acknowledging he quite possibly is which is no problem. He has a habit of waking up his brother by banging about in his room and we'd love to not have everyone waking up at the crack of dawn! He knows how to work the tv and is quite sensible generally.

Thanks!

can't remember how old our eldest was, but I think it was more like 7 and he's very sensible.

What time i she waking up?

My DS is 4.5. He stays in his room until his gro clock says he can get up. But then on a weekend he’s capable of going to the living room (we live all on one level so that probably helps) and watching tv for 20 min or so. He knows how to turn on kids Netflix.

He doesn’t get himself food and we’re usually up fairly soon anyway as we have DD2, who obviously needs help on a morning. But if she’s still sleeping then we enjoy the lie in.

Looking forward to one day leaving accessible breakfast and they both entertain themselves for an hour on a weekend morning. I think we’ve got a few more years to go before we get to that stage though

Our 4 year old managed this no problem in our old house (all on one level) She would go backwards and forwards a bit but we did get a little more shut eye. Now we’ve moved house and we’re all upstairs we’ve never suggested it but she sometimes will go back to her own room and play for a bit if it’s really early or we’re attempting to have a slower start to the day!
