Is it colic?

Dd is only 9 days old. Has a tongue tie that we've got an appointment for next week. As a result dd doesn't latch deeply making bf painful, she gets frustrated and very windy. Winding often doesn't work and she'll be writhing in pain for ages, tucking her legs up, making fists, screaming, arching her back.

I mentioned it to a friend who said it could be colic. Looking at the NHS website she does do almost everything it says.

Can a baby this little get colic?
Is it worth trying some infacol?
Am I being ridiculous holding out hope that the tongue tie procedure will magically cure her wind?

Hi, if she’s not latching on probably she may be taking in too much air which will result in excess wind, I found symptoms of a windy baby similar to colic. Things which helped us for wind was infacol, rubbing more on her left side of her back, my DH found a slight bounce helped, sometimes rocking her from left to right or round in a circle, I know other people find moving legs in bicycle motion. For colic we found swaddling, dummy and been in a dark room helped.

Tongue tie snip can have a huge effect on improving wind, it did with my DS1. But I dont see any reason not to try the Infacol in the meantime. Hope things get better for you.
