7 month old eating - A lot! Wrong? Over-feeding?

Example:

8oz bottle when woke up.

Bowl of porridge (made a bit more as she was banging high chair and whingeing whilst older sister was eating - happy afterwards.

5oz bottle.

3 fruit rice cakes

Soldier sandwich of butter and cheese triangle (ate all)
4 Ella's tomato and leek puffs
90g pouch of banana and mango

I then started to eat my lunch. Left over stew, dumpling and mash. Proceeded to whinge and hit high chair. Gave her a spoonful..ate it and smiled. Looked at me quizzically after I had a mouthful. Started whingeing and banging chair again. She ended up having 3 whole carrot segments, 3 parsnip and swede, 2 bits of meat and a mouthful of dumpling.

Happy as Larry now playing on the floor.

She will go on to have another 13oz of milk today, a 130g pouch of Ella for dinner and a petit filous for afters.

This is today's example, but pretty much a given most days. I.e eats hers then eats mine!

My 82 year old nan says that I'm over feeding her and I should restrict her portions.

She's in the 75th percentile at last weigh in. She's happy, 3 45mins naps during day and sleeps 14hours at night and is "regular"

I have to admit it seems excessive when written down, but could she be going on a growth spurt, just likes food or should I be controlling it more?

Advice please!

My DD ate loads from day 1 of weaning. She didn't get the memo about 'your baby will probably only take a mouthful or two'. Just let her help herself and she'll self-regulate if she's self-feeding (and don't be tempted to try to finish the pouch if she's showing signs of being done - it's tempting to do the 'just one mouthful!' thing if you're nearly finished, but if she's saying she's finished then don't push it!)

Sounds fine - she clearly enjoyed it! Mine are loads at that age - I used to raid the cupboards looking for more food for him. He's 2 now and exists on air, bananas and rice cakes.

My kids ate loads at that stage. Conversely my 2 year old ate a single cheerio, a piece of cheese and a single piece of broccoli yesterday, and pushed the rest away. She’s in the 90th percentiles!

I’d just roll with it. Maybe start moving from the pouches and just give her actual food when you eat at home. It’ll take her longer to eat it by herself and you won’t have to feed her. Enjoy this time when they’ll eat anything before they become fussy!
