7.30pm-6am: Sleep
6am: 8oz bottle
7am: Breakfast (Greek yog mixed with fruit purée, philedelphia toast strips and a few sips of water)
8am-9.30am: Nap
10.30am: 8oz bottle
12.15pm-12:45pm: Nap
1pm: Lunch (Spag bol, 2 Ellas kitchens puffs and a few sips of water)
2:30pm: 8oz bottle
4pm-4.40pm: Nap
6.30pm: Bath
7pm: 8oz bottle

(In regards to his solids the main bits that I feed him he eats all off, the finger foods he hasn't quite figured out yet and most of them don't go in his mouth)

Sounds okay my DS is 6.5 months old and has between 5-6 milk feeds a day. He's on 8oz sometimes he can do really well and take 7oz sometimes he just doesn't want it and can take about 5oz. Personally I would probably try get another bottle in as I aim for at least 5 but that's just my personal opinion. Does he take all of the 8oz?

PixieDustt · 31/01/2020 18:33

Sleep sounds good too! Forgot to add my DS will wake up about 6:30 then nap again about 11-12 then nap again 2-4 then will go to sleep about 8-9 depending on how long he actually naps for and goes through the night x

Thanks pixie. He takes the whole 8oz yes, drains the bottle but seems contented at the end not still hungry.

Oh I'd leave him at 4 then if he's taking all the 8oz. I only do 5 because he can be a pickle taking the lot 🤣

Mine has 7oz bottles, about three a day, but sounds about the same. As long as baby is gaining weight and seems happy I wouldn't worry too much

For 6m id say he's doing very well.

Once you start introducing a more substantial breakfast (oats / weetabix or similar) and dinner, I think you may need to drop the 10:30am bottle otherwise you'll be filling him up on milk, and the whole process of weaning is the replacing of milk with food.
My son is 9 months and has 3 bottles a day, all 7oz. 7am, 2:30pm and 6:30pm. We will drop the 2:30pm bottle soon and replace with fruit or another snack.

We dropped the 10:30am milk feed at 7 months as it was affecting his lunch (he has breakfast 1hr after wakeup, lunch at 11:30 and dinner at 5pm). Once you want to move up to 3 meals a day, I would replace the 10:30am bottle with an 11/11:30 lunch, then a bottle at 2:30 and dinner at 5pm.

.......although tbh, that's just advice based on what we do. You'll know what works best for you, and you can work it around his nap times :)

Muddy I meant to take the foods out of my op as that was just what he happened to have yesterday when I made the note. Some days he has weetabix, sometimes porridge and always a few fingers of toast. He still has the same amount of milk on those days. I don't feed him at set times, but they just happen to fall 4 hours apart as that's when he gets hungry. How would I go about dropping a bottle?
