Getting double stroller up a kerb?!?

Bought a cheapie side by side stroller for a holiday (usually have a p&t dash which I love). Took it out for a test run with both kids in and Christ, it’s hard work! How the flip do you get it up a kerb when you’ve got 25kgs of children in it? Anyone got any top tips??

Lean on the handle to tip it back so the front wheels come off the ground, then lift the back wheels up. If it's a proper crossover with a dropped kerb it shouldn't be that difficult Confused

Unfortunately just leaning on it doesn’t work, there doesn’t seem to be the right leverage, I think the weight distribution must be towards the front which makes it too heavy. What’s a crossover?

Just googled it. Looks like crossover means something more like my p&t, which is fine, it’s just the side by side I’m struggling with

Crossover as in a proper place to cross the road - with a lower curb.

I had a side by side one and just pushed down on the handle - it took a bit more pressure than a single buggy, but it got there.

Cos it’s a cheapie it’s harder to use

Honestly, I was able to lift a double buggy with a dodgy back because it had bought something suitable

I had an out n about

Ah I see what you mean, unfortunately several of the pavements around here don’t have dropped kerbs at road junctions (people on mobility scooters just ride them down the roads) so I do have to get the buggy up a fair few kerbs. Maybe I just need more practice or am particularly weak! Thanks

Yeah I thought it might be a symptom of it being cheap. It’s just for occasional use and holiday though so not worth getting anything expensive.

I never struggled when I used one Confused you just pull in back and down?

Sillyshell · 31/01/2020 11:51

Go up backwards so you are pulling it up rather trying to tip it

Flower8919 · 31/01/2020 15:19

Hi OP, if you go backwards and lift the back wheels up a bit first I find it is a lot easier than trying to go front first

DappledThings · 31/01/2020 20:42

Put your foot on the back bar and push down.
