Tips - first time alone with baby

My OH has been lucky enough to take 4weeks off work since our DD was born and will be returning to work on Monday! Sad
He has been really hands on since our little lady's arrival. This week I'm finding myself feeling more and more anxious by the day knowing he will be returning to work and I will be home alone with a baby!

We have discussed how feeds will go when he returns, he will do the last feed before he comes to bed while I get a few hours sleep, I will be up with her through the night, and he will do the early morning feed before he leaves. Does this seem ok?

I'm so bloody nervous!? Any advice/tips for the coming few days and my first weeks alone with DD?

Good luck! I remember feeling the same way but we soon settled into pir own little routine. We went to groups on about 3 mornings I think. One morning we would go to do the supermarket shop and the other morning I'd either go and see family or go into town for a browse in the shops. Make the most of being able to do that while the baby is still at an age where they will sleep in the pram!

Afternoons were naps and try and do a few jobs or watch a film.

Your plan for feeds sounds like a good way for you to both get some sleep. We take it in turns for weekend lie-ins too so I get Saturday morning and dh gets Sunday.

Dh was always excited to see dd when he got in from work so he would do her bath and bed while I made our dinner. We both enjoyed this as I felt it gave me a bit of time doing something "normal" on my own for a bit and he had some fun with dd.

Good luck and enjoy yourself!

We were talking about this tonight, I think that will be how we do it too. He's really dreading not been home as he loves spending that time with her so evenings are definitely their time together 🥰

@Newmumma83
I'm lucky that my mum lives on the same street, so she is close by if I need her for an hour or so for a little sleep.

Netflix is my new best friend lol
