Growth spurt?

My DD is 11 weeks on Sunday - the last week she's been very irritable. She will fuss constantly for breast (EBF) but then cry when I try to have her latch however she is still eating plenty. She's sleeping quite a lot and being very clingy. She's been to the GP this week for a minor issue but she's absolutely fine and very healthy. Does this sound like a growth spurt? She was born at 38+1 so I suppose her corrected age would be 9 weeks on Sunday if this makes any difference? Thanks!

She's also chewing her fists/hands a lot - she's been doing this about a week too which makes me thing developmental growth (found her hands properly)?

Babies go through a growth spurt at 12 weeks. For some babies this can be week 11 or 13. The wonderweeks app gives an idea of signs to look out for. My LO is 12 weeks sunday and hes also being a pain in the ass at the moment constantly wanting boob and his latch on one boob has been quite lazy so hurts my nipple and I keep having to take him off.

@OnlyLittleMissOrganised she literally won't latch at all! Hope your LO is doing okay!

When my baby goes through a growth spurt he pulls on and off and gets all worked up. When he gets like that I put my boob away, and walk him round a bit to try distract before starting again. If im at home and his super grouchy I take him into the bedroom and do skin to skin with lights off so he has limited distractions. It does pass but when your in the middle of one it's hard to believe it will ever end

@ToTravelIsToLive I like the idea of skin to skin in the dark - she feeds perfectly at night when the lights are off and I've no shirt on so I may give that a go! Thank you!

I find it such a lovely time too. Keeps me calm and relaxed even if he isn't at first. Cannot beat a bit of skin to skin time in the dark or dimmed light Grin
