When I am not working,
I will bring the children home, put away their school uniform, pjs on, school book reading. Playing or tv, dinner, bath every other day, play or tv again then story and bed. Interspersed with conversations about school and life etc.

What ages are your children?

Mine are in primary. We have a snack when we get ho e (soup etc), then homework, go to an activity/swimming, go home, cook dinner while doing more homework, eat and go to a later activity, then home, snack (toast etc) and read in bed.

Same, primary.
We live quite far from the school now so if there is an after school club we have to stay in the school area then bring them home later.

Survive until bedtime 😂

In all seriousness, Dd is just 4 years old and does 3 days a week at nursery. She comes home shattered, hungry and frankly not in a great mood because she is tired and hungry! So we don't tend to do a lot. I take her an apple or banana to eat on the way home, she's allowed to have the tv on while I make dinner, she plays with toys. Once she's had dinner is bath and bed by 7.

In the nicer weather we'll maybe go to the park or the beach on our way home. It just depends on her mood really!

We go on the park which is right next to the school for about half an hour , home for a snack. Ds watches tv for about half an hour while I put washing away, unload dishwasher, prep tea etc then we either play a board game or go back out with the dog , ds on bike. Home for tea , reading , more games bath and bed. My dad turns up a few times a week so he entertains him then ( my son won't play by himself for longer than 10 mins 😩)

Depends what day of the week it is... I've got different combinations of clubs and pick ups each day. Friday is the only day with nothing, then it's home, snack, play, dinner, bath bed.

I only pick up twice a week. Wednesday DS1 has swimming straight after school. Children just play/watch TV while I make dinner. Tuesday is our free day so we tend to vary between going out somewhere (park, farm, library, cafe) or going home to play. I sometimes set out something a bit special to do, like an art activity or some baking. I'm 100% certain I wouldn't go to that much effort if I didn't only have 1 day a week.

With DD(5) we get home from school at around 4:00pm, and once a week it’s 5:30pm as she stays at school to do a club.

Routine tends to be; get changed, read school books and any other homework, she then plays (outside in garden Spring/summer and inside the rest of the year) until tea is ready. Bath then bed at around 7pm.

On the night where we’re not home until 5:30pm I notice she’s just exhausted and doesn’t want to do any school reading etc. I know that currently she definitely couldn’t cope with doing anymore activities after the school day finishes.
