Essentials for the change bag?

I’ve now got 2 under 2, and have upgraded my change bag to enable us to get out the door as quickly as possible.

I’ve got change pod (mat, wipes, 2 sizes of nappy, bags, cream), a change of clothes for each child, cutlery and bib for eldest, small selection of toys for eldest. Keys, umbrella, purse, headphones, lip balm.

Any staples or helpful extras that I’m missing...?

Sounds like you’ve got it all, I always carry a tiny toy for my DD to hold if she’s wriggling when I do a nappy change (although she’s not so wriggly these days) and a tiny bottle of bubbles to keep her entertained when we are out somewhere. Also I always have a muslin in the bag which helps if they are sick, perhaps a plastic or waterproof bag to put dirty clothes in?

I'd add antibac gel, salon, plasters and arnica cream because once they are on the go toddling there's a little bump or graze every day. I also kept a supply of healthy snacks (a couple of puree puches, rice cakes etc) so if we were ever running late they didn't get grumpy from hunger.
In the summer, add sun cream and sun hats.

Savlon not salon!

Ah bubbles and muslin are a good shout! Forgot to say I’ve also got a spare blanket. I use nappy bags for dirty clothes. Snacks and sun items are good ideas. Tbh I find the toddler doesn’t damage himself, he’s in childcare 5 days a week so opportunities with me are limited.

Alcohol/sterilising wipes!

God you guys are organised. Mine has a change of clothes (his, not mine), two or sometimes three nappies and a bag of wipes.

With the Exorcist-style milk cascade he’s been generating recently, I was wondering whether I should pack a clean top for myself...!

I’ve got to have my stuff packed though, I find it’s the only way to get out of the house as a sensible speed, and have a successful outing...

Snacks. All the snacks. Stuff that won’t go off and you can just keep in the bag and produce when they’re having a tantrum over something.
