Hi all - is the naughty step still used to help kids learn boundaries? Or is it now a no-no? Confused

Well it depends on the age of the child and your parenting approach but my understanding is it doesn't really actually teach boundaries. Consistency and distraction are likely to work better

My mum friends all use one.. I cannot for the life of me get my child to stay sat on said step so I don’t 🤷🏼‍♀️ I think I’d use it as a last resort but sometimes you need a last resort with headstrong toddlers!

We call it the thinking step; I take DD into the hallway and explain why she shouldn’t have done what she did. Depending on her response we might stay there a minute or two then have a hug and return to what we’re doing. I don’t use it for every tiny thing though as at times I can see she just wants that attention.
