TV time for 3 year old

I'm wondering how much TV time to allow my 3 year old. He doesn't have any other sort of screen time so its just TV.

He's at nursery 2.5 days a week. So at least 3 days a week he has no TV time at all. So the remaining 4 days I'm not sure what is appropriate.

I work most evenings so I have to do get the house work in the day time when he is with me. He doesnt nap anymore. So I find it much easier for him to be watching TV while I get that done.

Do you have a daily limit? Or a limit per each time of watching TV? Do you have any tips for getting house work done without using TV?

It’s harder in winter! In the summer, mine are usually alright occupying themselves outside.
Also, it’s harder with younger siblings. When the older dc have the Tv on, you can’t really stop younger ones from watching, especially if you’re short of space and there’s nowhere else for them to go!
I don’t have set time limits - it depends on the weather and mine/the DC’s mood! If I’m fraught and have little patience, they end up watching more. I am, however, quite fussy with what they watch. There’s so much junk - I record programmes which I think are suitable and they can choose from what I’ve recorded.

Two-three hours a day is the recommend I believe. I've found that it's best to use the tv at prescribed times throughout the day, not willynilly.

Ag that age dd was allowed to watvh tv outside of 'school hours,' so tv was always of beteeen 9 and 4. Not on constantly at other times but gave me a loose routine when i personally felt that i was sticking it on tok much.
