Worried baby has eaten too much today

She has been usually hungry/thirsty today!

She’s 10 months old. She was under 50th percentile mid December but I haven’t weighed her since. (She was 91st at birth)

She’s had:
Jar of baby food
Some chicken (didn’t actually see how much she had. I’d guess 50g but that is a guesstimation)
Small Jacket potato with beans and cheese (she didn’t have the skin)

She’s had since 2am 6 bottles of formula milk (7oz)

She’s also drank some water. I had offered her suit and veg with lunch and dinner but she didn’t want that.

Worried she’s eaten too much today and what will happen!

What are you expecting to happen? She’s unlikely to burst ......

Merename · 06/01/2020 18:56

Babies that age don’t really overeat, ime, she wouldn’t have eaten more than she wanted. I’m sure she will be fine, she’s probably having a growth spurt!

Babyfg · 06/01/2020 18:56

A growth spurt? Why would you think something bad will happen?

Get ready for a big poo!

user1480880826 · 06/01/2020 18:59

Is she feeding herself or are you spoon feeding her? If she’s feeding herself then she’s unlikely to over eat. If you’re spoon feeding her then there’s a chance she might eat more than she actually needs to.

However, the worst that will happen is a lot of poo tomorrow!

Grin

I used to love it when they ate heaps, I'd be filled with false confidence that they might sleep through the night.

It's fine op.

RhymingRabbit3 · 06/01/2020 19:02

Nothing bad will happen, babies tend to just eat until they're full so she was probably just hungry today.

EmmiJay · 06/01/2020 19:11

Growth spurt time?

MsChatterbox · 06/01/2020 19:17

My 10 month old would eat more than that. He's 2 years old now and tall and skinny. Don't panic!

Bipbipbipbip · 06/01/2020 19:20

MsChatterbox same. DS was a bottomless pit at that age.

FenellaMaxwell · 06/01/2020 19:21

What are you expecting to happen? Confused

Diggydiggyholediggingahole · 06/01/2020 19:38

Thanks all.

I was worried I’d make her poorly or something. Didn’t want her to get a stomach ache or upset stomach

Sounds like too much milk and not enough food

Diggydiggyholediggingahole · 06/01/2020 19:42

She definitely doesn’t drink that much milk normally. She’s just been really wanting it today

My 11mo eats far more solids than that on a daily basis! That would be a quiet day for her Grin She's never spoon fed so it's all just up to her. It is a lot of milk. How was she indicating she needed so many bottles?

TwoZeroTwoZero · 06/01/2020 19:48

Might be sickening for something or just be having a hungry day. Mine used to have days/weeks where it felt like I was trying to fill up a bottomless tank and then other times where they'd barely force down a mouthful! In fact even now at 7&8 they go through phases of eating loads and then next to nothing. Don't worry about it. Trust your dc to manage their own hunger and for the most part they will only take what they need. The problems come in my (amittedly limited) experience when you continually limit their portions or force them to eat when they aren't hungry.
